Starting Out

It took us 2 years to sell, give away and donate everything we could't take with us in the motorhome.  We admit the journey is sometimes scary becauce we don't know what we are doing.  This is what you call on the job training.  We are learning as we go.

This is what we look like when we are traveling.  We have a lot of things we want to do so we needed to bring our toys.  It seems to me like a lot of work but Ed says it isn't.
We left Elkhart, In October 23 and headed to McGaheysville, Va.  It took us a week to get there.  We spent a month there.  The days were cold and the nights were freezing.  The refrigerator quit working and we were waiting for the part.  We  also planned on spending the month there visiting Ed's sister.  We played a lot of cards and bingo.  As soon as it was fixed we planned on heading to sunny Florida.  Hopefully!  We left Virginia the first week of December.

We spent the first night in a Walmart in North Carolina.  It wasn's too bad.  The noise let up about 11:00.  Than we headed to a Thousand Trails park in South Carolina where we stayed 3 days.  While there we went to visit my sister in Georgia.  From there we went to a park in Georgia where we stayed another 3 days.  Than we headed to Florida.  Finally!!!  And to warm weather.

We went to an ROD park called Spirit of The Suwannee Music Park where we stayed 7 days.  A very nice  park and we sort of had the park to ourselves.  At least our area.  And than the weekend came and the campers started coming in.

We are now at Peace River another Thousands Trails Park.  We have been here 3 weeks and the time has went so fast.  We can only stay here 3 weels so we have to leave or we would stay longer.  We have spent a lot of time on the river looking for shark teeth.

I don't know what we are going to do with them but we sure have a bunch.  The river is also beautiful and we have canoeing down it.

There is a lot I have to do to set this blog up and I should have started sooner but at least I started it.

  1. Oh my gosh! How did Ed ever give up his wood pile? I suppose by now Boomer went to the happy hunting grounds. Our collies have been long gone too.
Dick works in Alaska 2 weeks and comes home 2 weeks. He's on a vacation-like situation all the time. I've been working on getting my children's books out again...they are now! Jackie, Daryl and kids live near us and we love that.
We just had the boys and their families here for Christmas...what a lot of work! Who do you guys drop in on for the holidays?
Is Ed still using his W. Virginia (gas) credit card? With prices the way they are....He's the one who told me about that kind of gas card.
And you had to give up your PIG when you sold everything?? That vacuum had suction!
Stop by my blog and say hey!
